We were notified on Wednesday of a case of two small children, one infant and one toddler approximately 2 years of age, who were left unattended in a vehicle by their mommy as she shopped in a store. A citizen who was aware of Ray Ray's Pledge and the dangers of child vehicular heatstroke noticed the children in the vehicle, ran into the store, asked for the parent, and announced that he was calling the police. When the mother appeared and apologized to the citizen, he provided her information on the dangers of leaving children unattended in a vehicle, inclusive of child vehicular heatstroke (child hot car deaths, hyperthermia). |
