Mom who turned personal tragedy into quest to keep other children safe is honored this Mother’s Day

Austin, Tx. – May 5, 2014 … This Mother’s Day KidsAndCars.org, a national nonprofit child safety organization, is publicly recognizing Kristie Reeves-Cavaliero of Austin, TX as one of an extraordinary group of volunteers: mothers whose lives were changed forever due to the tragic loss of their child, and who now honor their child’s memory by working tirelessly to ensure another family does not have to suffer a similar loss.

TWO CT Children Saved this Week By Alert Citizen!

We were notified on Wednesday of a case of two small children, one infant and one toddler approximately 2 years of age, who were left unattended in a vehicle by their mommy as she shopped in a store.  A citizen who was aware of Ray Ray's Pledge and the dangers of child vehicular heatstroke noticed the children in the vehicle, ran into the store, asked for the parent, and announced that he was calling the police.  When the mother appeared and apologized to the citizen, he provided her information on the dangers of leaving children unattended in a vehicle, inclusive of child vehicular heatstroke (child hot car deaths, hyperthermia).
